VCH Oxfordshire is running a series of five ‘Exploring Local History’ workshops at The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock between 28 April and 9 June, on Monday mornings 10am to 1pm.

Each session includes 3 short illustrated talks on particular topics, with a pronounced ‘how to find out more’ element and plenty of time for discussion. The series is particularly aimed at people engaged in their own local history research, who would like a bit of guidance and some broad historical background - with coffee and biscuits included!

Topics include:

  • archaeology and settlement (28 April)
  • vernacular buildings (12 May)
  • farming, estates, and communities (19 May)
  • religion (2 June)
  • market towns (9 June)

For full details and booking information see the Oxfordshire Museum’s What’s On pages (scroll down to find each session).

The series (£40) is intended as a whole, although individual sessions can be booked for £10.
