A short talk inside the Oxford University Press Museum will precede a leisurely walk through Jericho with local historian and author Mark Davies. The emphasis will be on the area’s rich literary and artistic associations, ranging from ‘Alice’ and the Pre-Raphaelites to Thomas Hardy and Inspector Morse. Tracing the 200-year transition from lush meadowland to dynamic (sometimes controversial) suburb, the walk will end inside the imposing church of St Barnabas. A Jericho 200 and Oxford Festival of the Arts event.
