Talk: The extraordinary life of Harriet Jacobs' and Steventon’s part in her anti-slavery fame

Steventon History Society have a special talk and exhibition for Black History Month

All are welcome to a talk on 15th October at 7pm at The North Star, Steventon, to hear more about the extraordinary life of Harriet Jacobs a woman born into slavery in North Carolina in 1813 who found her way to Steventon

Speakers are Sharron Jenkinson, Pauline Cakebread and Christine Hudson-Roberts

There is also an exhibition telling Harriet’s story at St Michael’s Church, Steventon Wednesday 16th October – Sunday 20th October 11am – 5pm each day (donations welcome)
