For over a century, Hill End has provided nature-immersive outdoor education to children and young people from Oxfordshire and beyond - welcoming over a million visitors and creating memories that last a lifetime.
2026 marks the centenary of the very first school visits – and many who enjoyed trips in the early days still visit to this day, such as West Oxford, St Barnabas and Cowley (now St James) Primary.
The Hill End Charitable Trust is inviting its community to get involved with the celebrations, and to help take the next steps in a journey to be fit for the next 100 years.
Its key focus is the much-loved 1930s ‘High Dormitory’, now in urgent need of restoration. The Trust has now developed designs with a local architect that also preserve its character and unique history. Support and funding are now needed to take the crucial first steps and make this exciting project a reality.
Hill End would also love to hear from people who can help – by , helping with and attending events, providing memories or old photographs to tell the story, or simply to spread the word!
